Martha has been a student of yoga for 12 years, and in 2009, she became a registered Yoga teacher after taking the RYT200 Training Program at Cloud Nine Yoga in Hollywood.
She believes yoga helps us hone the strong connection between our minds and bodies. Because of her collegiate and professional basketball experience, Martha likes to bring out the athlete in every yogi she teaches - but always reminds her students that with every effort that our bodies endure, there also must be some release.
Her Hatha Flow Yoga classes on Sunday mornings consist of breathing exercises, vinyasa flow and deep stretching. All levels welcome!
Sundays 10:00 am
$10 per class / $5 for VMAC members

Yoga is a physical, mental, and spiritual discipline, originating in ancient India. At the physical level, yoga and its cleansing practices have proven to be extremely effective for various disorders. Some benefits of yoga include excellent toning of the muscles, increasing flexibility, increasing lubrication of the joints, ligaments and tendons, massaging of all organs of the body, and complete detoxification. A recent study indicates that yoga may be as effective as physical therapy in reducing low back pain, helpful in smoking cessation efforts. |
